About me
In 2000, I launched my career at the Illinois State Library in Springfield, managing outreach for Find It! Illinois and expanding global library partnerships with the Mortenson Center. By 2004, I stepped into my current position as the Coordinator for the Illinois Center for the Book. In this role, affiliated with the Library of Congress, I have spent decades championing Illinois authors and fostering a statewide culture of reading through flagship programs like Read for a Lifetime, Letters About Literature, Family Reading Night, and the Illinois Emerging Writers Competition. Off the clock, my greatest loves are my son, traveling, reading, and animals of all kinds. No matter where I am in the world, I will always be the first person in my travel group to spot the resort cat and the little library!
